Hi there,
Gearing up for The Holidays over there in your kitchen? Quentin and I are traveling out West to spend time with family for Thanksgiving, but my kitchen got a big workout for my Friendsgiving celebration last weekend. And since Thanksgiving is my very favorite holiday and giving unsolicited kitchen advice is my very favorite hobby, I figured I’d use today's letter to enjoy both!
Over the years, I’ve found (and created) some extremely detailed and useful resources related to Turkey Day.
And I want to share them with you!
Let’s get into my little Thanksgiving Linkapalooza!
Want to know which dishes you can/cannot cook ahead of the big day? I covered that in a newsletter just about a year ago today. Here’s a refresher.
Trouble choosing which recipes to cook? Watch some seriously talented home cooks work their way through a series of very popular Thanksgiving dishes and tell you which ones are worth your time.
Want to avoid a dry bird? Courtney detailed her process via an absolutely riveting Instagram story series last year and has already started work on her bird for this year.
Looking for nontraditional tablescape inspo? My Friendsgiving Pinterest board might be the right place for you. And you can watch me talk about how I put it together here.
Trying to upgrade your mashed potatoes? Or maybe just hear all about the holiday from Deb Perelman of very trusted cooking blog Smitten Kitchen fame herself? Read Deb’s tips (and find her brown butter mashed potatoes) this way.
Curious about how to manage many dietary restrictions and preferences at your holiday table? I talk about that here.
Are ya looking for a roundup of main dishes to satisfy the vegetarians at your table that don’t involve Tofurkey? Head this way. And you didn’t hear it from me, but a private browser is a great way to bypass a paywall.
And if you’re hoping to stay (arguably a bit too) organized while you prep? You can find my guide to getting ahead on holiday prep here.
Okay, we’ve covered it! Please do let me know if you have any burning Thanksgiving-related questions. You can respond to me directly by shooting me an email, or drop a comment for the group to see.
Alright, as always, wishing you a well-fed week ahead.
With love and a tip of my chef’s hat,
Erica
