Hello there,
Dang, I do love the holidays, but this is a very stressful time of year, isn’t it? With all the gathering (and the confusion around gathering thanks to COVID), elaborate cooking, and inevitable family tension, it can be a lot. And on top of that we’ve got shopping and the added pressure to buy, buy, buy thanks to the behemoth that is Black Friday. Nothing says capitalism quite like a made up holiday that was once a single day of sales slowly morphing into a weeks-long marathon of confusing deals that may or may not end tomorrow but may also go on for an indeterminate amount of time or never end at all, am I right?
All this to say, if you’re deciding to opt out of shopping this year, or are perhaps planning to make donations in lieu of physical gift giving (Abigail had a few great orgs on her gift guide this year), I think that’s a wise choice! But, also, there are some great sales going on on some of my tried and true kitchen faves, so I’m rounding them up for you. Yay for complex feelings about shopping!
But first, a few disclaimers about this list:
Clearly, I have very mixed feelings about shopping this time of year and capitalism and consumerism in general. Do I think you need any of the items on this list? Absolutely not. These are just a few items I absolutely love and recommend year round that happen to be on sale today.
Some of these links will be affiliate links. I’ll note them with an *. Your shopping experience won’t be affected at all but I may earn a small kickback (you know the drill) and I really appreciate your choice to shop through them!
I personally try to avoid shopping via Amazon for a number of reasons, but it’s not a hard and fast rule in my house and I do link to a couple things from good ol’ Jeff Bezos if the sale was good.
TL;DR Shopping is ethically complicated, but here are some things I love that are on sale today!
Okay, now that we’ve covered the less fun housekeeping stuff, let’s get into the shopping:
Meal Prep Classes First, let’s get the plug out of the way! Abigail and I are running the only, I repeat and in bold: the only sale we plan to have on our meal prep classes right now and it ends today (and won’t be extended, I promise! no confusing marketing gimmicks here). Take 10% off our Meal Prep Class Pack of four classes when you use code SMALL at checkout. That means you’ll be getting each class at just around $20, which is a huge deal—our private classes run at ~$350 a pop, so again, big ol’ deal! This works for gifting as well! You can read more about our classes here.
A Great Dutch Oven* I have the round version of this classic Le Creuset and it is the cooking vessel I use most in my kitchen by far. If you’re up for an oval guy, they’re on super sale today.
A Lovely Gift for The Holidays I wrote about these towels in Abigail’s gift guide and just purchased one and Fog Linen’s book Simplicity Matters at 15% off using code CYBER21.
A Very Good Pressure Cooker* I’ve had mine for years and it’s still going strong. My model is a little outdated but it’s also on super sale today.
My Trusty Vitamix* Again, not the newest model, but I’ve had mine for over 5 years and it still works like a dream. It’s an investment that’s been well worth it in my kitchen and it’s $50 off right now.
The Classic Stand Mixer* It’s a good price right now at $80 off and for me, was worth the investment, especially since I know it’ll work for years to come.
As you can see, I’m mostly highlighting investment pieces because for me, those are the things I typically shop for during this “holiday”—items I’ve had my eye on for a while and know will go on sale eventually. I hope this framing is helpful for you too, and that if you do choose to shop today, that the *gods of dealz* are shining brightly down upon you!
Okay, that’s it from me this week!
With love and a *tip* of my chef’s hat,
Erica
